Name: Barry Bernadotte Age: 17 Sex: Male Profession: Student Location: Neo Miami Affiliations: Residents Disposition: Dissatisfied
Character Background and Description Barry is the youngest of three brothers- John, 23, Adam, 20, and himself at 17. He'll be finishing high school this year, and he has been recruited by the bioengineering firm his brother Adam works for to be an engineer. Barry plays the guitar, and plays with some friends of his from high school in a band- they have occasionally gone busking in downtown Neo Miami, but it's extremely loud and busy there and there's a long waiting list for permission to perform in any of the public areas, so it's unlikely he will be able to play before he graduates high school- at which point he'll be too busy to play.
Barry glided through his early years, drifting from friend to friend, interest to interest until he found the guitar. Unlike his brothers, Barry was born late enough that organized primary education and childcare were prevalent and relatively affordable. A few of his early childhood interests stayed with him- he is a passable photographer and an okay artist. Barry's true passion lies in music, in his guitar, but his instinctive grasp for what is needed to make something work, what materials need to be used where, what parts should go together, lead to him being recruited not for his musical abilities, but his engineering skills.
He tries to think of how much money he'll be getting paid once he's done with his accelerated education, of how many people he can help as he improves prosthetic technology or makes better computers, but he knows that in the end, he'll still long for days where he could just perform. He has a vision, of himself in ten years- a long day at work, an arrival at home. A brief period of practice, to never let his skills rest, followed by dinner and sleep. He fears that those brief practices will be the only times he feels alive, ten years from now.
